Microwave Testing

Ensure your microwave safety standards are maintained

Microwave Testing

Even though there is no legal requirement for the testing of radiation leakage from microwave ovens in the work place, for those that are looking for that extra piece of mind ATTS Facilities Maintenance is now happy to offer the service of microwave safety testing to our clients.

Microwave testing is important, and can detect a number of contributing factors that can cause microwave radiation leakage. Slamming the door, dirt or food particles caught in the door seals or hinges and basic wear and tear can all cause the oven door to slightly separate from the oven enclosure. Once this happens, invisible radiation waves leak through the microwave and can potentially cause irreversible damage and injury to the user.

Comprehensive microwave testing for your microwave oven

Not only will our technicians ensure that your Microwave Ovens on site do not pose a threat of electric shock to you and your co-workers and meets the highest microwave safety standards but our expert technicians will complete a Microwave Leakage Inspection on your oven on site in accordance with AS/NZS 60335.2.25. This involves microwave radiation testing around the oven using an advanced Microwave Leakage Detector to ensure radiation levels are below limits specified in AS/NZS 60335.2.25.

Once microwave testing has been completed and the unit is considered safe for use, a sticker detailing AS/NZS 60335.2.25 certification label indicating radiation and power levels is affixed to the front door of the Microwave to clearly display the unit is safe to use. A tag detailing AS/NZS 3760:2010 compliance is affixed to the power lead.
