All of our technicians meet the competency requirement set out by AS/NZS 3760. All of our technicians have obtained a TAFE statement in Safety Checking Electrical Appliances or an equivalent. They also gain experience through on the job training with other experienced technicians.

- Visual Inspection: Firstly the appliance shall be checked to ensure that it is in good physical condition and there are no obvious signs of danger.
- Electrical Testing: The appliance shall be tested with a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT) to test for any unseen electrical faults.
- Record Keeping: Once the appliance is tested a record of the appliance and the test outcomes as well as who tested it shall be made.

Fire Extinguisher Services
Ensure the safety of yourself and others with fire extinguisher testing
Fire extinguisher inspection must take regularly and thoroughly for all fire extinguishers installed in all commercial buildings (offices, retail stores, warehouses, factories, etc.), public buildings (hospitals, schools, universities, theatres, etc.) and multi-occupancy residential buildings. The maintenance regime for the inspection and testing of fire extinguishers & hydrants is specified in the Australia Standard AS 1851 Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment.
When it comes to fire extinguisher maintenance and servicing there are some key points that people should be aware of to ensure they receive the appropriate level of service. The following provides some guidelines regarding correct and thorough fire extinguisher testing::
Fire extinguisher maintenance requirements
- All fire extinguishers have to be inspected at six monthly intervals. If they don't have a pressure gauge, they may need to be weighed to check they are still full.
- Some may require additional fire extinguisher service tasks to be carried out annually.
Extinguishers need to be emptied, pressure tested and refilled every five years. - There may be other fire extinguisher servicing requirements at 3, 5 or 6 years.
- The fire extinguisher testing intervals are to be recorded on a label or metal tag attached to the unit.
- No other work is required, provided that the visual inspection of the extinguisher shows that it is in a serviceable condition, unless the gauge indicates the unit is under pressure or the weight is too low. Any additional fire extinguisher maintenance required must be approved by the client before being carried out.
Extinguishers must, however, be refilled, even if only partially discharged, between the five year services.
